WINDOWS 95 DRIVER INSTALL

1. New Install
1.1. Remove any AudioScience audio adapters from the PC.
1.2. Download driver zip from www.audioscience.com
(W95Vxxx.ZIP, where xxx is the version)
1.3. Unzip driver into a directory somewhere on your PC (i.e. c:\audioscience)
1.4. Make sure your adapter has the adapter index set in position 1
(left hand position of 4 position jumper) 
1.5.
Install adapter in a free PCI slot.
1.6. Power up the PC
1.7. Windows 95/98/Me will boot and its PnP mechanism will find the audio
adapter:
Windows 95/98
- Windows95/98 will detect the adapter during boot and will ask you for a driver.
- Select "Driver from disk provided by manufacturer" and "browse" to the location on
your disk (or floppy) where you have the driver files. You will need:
ASIWAV16.DLL
ASIDSP.BIN
ASIWAV16.INF
- Win95 will install the driver and make any necessary changes to the system.
- You will then be asked to restart Windows, so that the driver will start running
Windows ME
- WindowsMe will detect the adapter during boot ("Windows has found a PCI
Multimedia Device" and will ask you for a driver.
- Select "Specify a location" and press [Next].
- Choose "Search for the best driver for your device" and click "Specify a location".
Browse to the location on your disk (or floppy) where you have the driver files.
You will need:
ASIWAV16.DLL
ASIWAV16.INF
ASIDSP.BIN
- WindowsMe will install the driver and make any necessary changes to the system.
- You will then be asked to restart Windows, so that the new driver will start running.
2 Update Driver
- Use this method when you want to change your version of the driver to a more current
version.
- Unzip the updated driver onto either the hard drive or floppy.
You will need:
ASIWAV16.DLL
ASIDSP.BIN
ASIWAV16.INF
- Right click on the "My Computer" icon and select Properties. Select "Device Manager"
and navigate to the AudioScience card (under sound and multimedia devices).
- Select "Properties" and the "Driver" tab. Select "Update Driver" and
"Specify a location". Follow the wizard prompts and browse to the location of the
new driver files. Windows will then update the driver and prompt for a restart. |
