 Information about our drivers:
--Windows Driver Versions
There are 3 versions of the AudioScience Windows driver. They are the WAVE,
the WDM and the Combo. Briefly, the WAVE driver supports the waveOut, waveIn and mixer interfaces,
the WDM driver supports the DirectSound interface, and the Combo driver contains both the WAVE and
WDM interface. See below for more information on a specific driver.
--ASIO
All Windows drivers support the ASIO
interface. The WAVE driver supports WAVE and ASIO, the WDM driver supports WDM and ASIO, and the Combo driver
supports WAVE, WDM and ASIO. (For information on configuring Adobe

--Combo driver
The Combo driver is used for specific circumstances. The Combo driver is typically used when
2 applications on the same machine require 2 different driver types. For example,
automation software that requires the WAVE interface and editing software that requires the DirectSound interface.
--Driver Selection - PLEASE READ
To
verify what driver type and version you need, AudioScience recommends checking with either
the support department or the website of the application that you are using with the AudioScience card.

--Adapter Support
Some older cards are no longer
supported in current driver release. For a list of our cards and driver support,
check here.
--Driver Versioning
Our driver numbering uses the NN.NN.NN system. A released driver,
one that you would find on this page, will always have an even number as its middle
two digits - 3.06.07, for example. Odd numbered middle digits will be our
"in development" drivers - 3.07.06, for example.
Windows WAVE Driver for Windows 2000/XP/Server
2003
- Supports the Microsoft waveOut, waveIn and mixer APIs.
- Supports ASIO
APIs
- Supports the AudioScience HPI and ASX APIs
- DirectSound is supported by emulation.
- Windows
versions supported are 2000, XP, and Server 2003.
- Use ASIMixer to adjust card settings
